Woman struck by lightning while shooting video

Fortunately, the woman who shot this video was uninjured when she was struck by lightning. Her scream is more chilling than the Wilhelm Scream, if you ask me.

She didn't get hit. If you look closely, you can see that there is a fireball just a little in front of her (~50 feet). Also, if she was hit by lightning, I'm pretty sure that
a) The camera would be no-worky after that
b) There would be no video of it, as an magnetic storage medium would be either erased or melted or both.

Snowraver1: If there is a ground strike near then I believe there is a good chance of you getting "hit" in the sense that you're going to pick up some of the discharge.

Hmmm...LaughingSquid says she was holding on to a METAL RAILING at the time. How do you spell "DARWINISM"?

from her flickr page:
"i was not directly struck, i got just a really good zap from one of the "finger arcs" that happen when lightning hits."

This is just further proof that cameras are best left in the hands of government officials.

It's happened to me, just like that. And I'm afraid to say I think I sounded about the same too. And then I started hearing the voices...

One of my pals thought her scream was pretty hilarious, so much he made it into a ringtone.

I found this video of a dog almost being struck by lightning to be somewhat amusing....kind of wonder if the dog knew what was going on.

Wow. That scream is a bit chilling and is just as chock full of character as the Wilhelm. So, now we have 'The Lynch' in our catalog of dubbable screams.

Oh my gosh! That's a friend of mine! She has been popping up all over the internet since she posted that on flickr. She makes super cool t-shirts and hoodies under the name Slow Loris, check her out!

My 2 year old now knows why we don't go outside in thunder storms. Great video, nothing traumatic happens but it clearly demonstrates the danger in a memorable way that a child can understand.

I'm surprised the camera kept working during it.

duskiboy,

Your last four comments have been on the theme of what you don't like here. Maybe there's another blog that would be better suited to your special needs.

I've heard similar screams from about a million women. Anything from meeting somebody to breaking a nail.

Holding a metal-containing object while standing on a hilltop under a tree during a lightning storm.

It's like a reverse game of Clue.

That was too cool! Lightning struck very close to our house just the other day. It was super loud and the whole house shook. My wife let out a scream not so different from the lady in the video!

Is it as haunting as the Grape Lady's scream?

Heck, that was a very melodramatic scream for a lightning strike. When I got struck by lightning I didn't let it affect my cool. I walked quietly and casually away from the scene. Girls like that kind of thing.
