Anthropomorphized food gives me the creeps. Never trust anything with a face that asks you to consume it.

I always thought that the Famous Dave's logo, featuring a chef pig barbecuing a full rack of baby-back ribs, licking his chops, to be particularly disturbing. However, not disturbing enough to resist partaking in the occasional garbage-can-lid orgy of meaty BBQ goodness every now and again.

James Lileks (author of "The Gallery of Regrettable Food" and "Interior Desecrations," among other titles) refers to these as Quislings. And yeah, they always give me the creeps, too.

yeah, food mascots creep me out. Reminds me of the Foster Farms chickens.

I like the Weinerschnitzel hot dog that doesn't want to be eaten, or the Chick-fil-a cows that want people to eat chicken instead of them.

...Those billboard cows caused a bit of a ruckus a few years back. One of the local fraternities went around town and stole 8 or 9 of them, and set them up in the frat house back yard having an orgy :-)

Almost all Richard Scarry books feature at least one pig eating or selling some sort of pork product. Re-reading his books is one of the nicer aspects of parenting.

My fave example of this phenomenon is Pepe the King Prawn, who became the spokesprawn for Long John Silvers seafood restaurant.
