How is it not sexist to make comments like this about Palin while giving Obama a complete pass for executive inexperience? He'd be not a heartbeat away from the Presidency. He'd be the President.

@TRR Because people, including John McCain, have criticized Obama for his inexperience. Now, McCain picked an inexperienced VP, which makes this ironic.

I'm sure some sexists might be using that as an excuse to dis her, but the majority laughing are those that see the irony.

#18: I'm not sure that an NRA card-carrying, big oil lovin, pro-life evangelical that just happens to be under investigation for abuse of power is going to garner that many swing voters. The only thing she has going for her is that she's a woman, otherwise she's pretty much every moderate and liberal's nightmare.

It's only censorship when the gubbment does it. On BoingBoing and any other privately-owned publication, it falls under the "my house, my rules" clause. Just like you can kick me out of your house for cussing (or for any reason, really), if you want, and it's not censorship.

Back to the topic: Whatever, you think of her policies, kids, looks or experience, parodies like the one above confirm that Palin has acheived the primary aim of taking the media spotlight off of Obama.

...For those complaining about people loving the fact that she's a VPILF, keep in mind that when McCain wins the election, Palin will probably only be referred to as a VPILF for about two years. Then she'll get to drop the "V" :-)

Sparkzilla: O could use a little time out of the spotlight. It's about time someone else got to squirm under the microscope. If Michelle O had just had her 5th baby at 44, and she'd announced her teenage daughter is 5 months pregnant right before the convention, the resultant "scandal" would've put him out of the race (no pun intended.) Why isn't Fox news calling Palin or her daughter a Baby Mama? (Oh yes, because it wouldn't be racist.)

Didn't an Alaskan Senator just get sent to the Pokey for massive fraud? Aren't similar issues raised by this VP candidate? Here's hoping McCain had More than "she'll help me distract the press" on his mind when he (or his advisors) picked her. I'm a big supporter of women in politics, but surely you'd want them to have experience at each level before you bump them up to the next one? Hillary spent 8 years in the White House, she's spent time in the Senate, arguably she's got a lot of experience. Palin? "she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission", which I'm betting had Something to do with her powerbase on this one.

Hmm, Obama's from Illinois. Didn't a governor of Illinois once get convicted of something? Yeah, that's the ticket.
