Wow. That's freakin' awesome!
It's funny because it's true.
Gawker posted some pictures of the young man who fathered her grandchild flipping the camera off and wielding shotguns.
It's like "Gossip Girl" with firearms.
This is full of win!
How is it not sexist to make comments like this about Palin while giving Obama a complete pass for executive inexperience? He'd be not a heartbeat away from the Presidency. He'd be the President.
@TRR Because people, including John McCain, have criticized Obama for his inexperience. Now, McCain picked an inexperienced VP, which makes this ironic.
I'm sure some sexists might be using that as an excuse to dis her, but the majority laughing are those that see the irony.
Personally, I don't give a rat's.
It's not ironic, and "win" is not something that something else can be full of. Crap is.
@TRR ...get off my lawn?
Affirmative Action: "It's OK when we (the GOP) do it."
TRR - actually, it is ironic. Please check the dictionary definition. "Full of win" is idiomatic slang orginated and popularized on teh internets. Now stop yer clownin'.
@trr: irony is when you gripe about something not being an example of irony when, in fact, it is.
@TRR "... "win" is not something that something else can be full of."
Full of fail.
cant the Cizarny?
Maybe its Daily Show burnout, but political parodies are getting to be every bit as depressing as reality.
Really.......doesn't anybody ever wonder why there is no Far-Right equivalent to "The Daily Show:" or "The Colbert Report"?
Because TRR is an example of the best that they can do.
Perpetually humorless, indignant and crabby doesn't win many hearts, as far as I can see....
Hey...choosing Sarah is the only thing I've ever seen McCain do that made me think better of him...slightly.
Just in the off chance he wins, knowing that he'd have to look at the VP a lot, he choose a good lookin' gal and didn't give a crap about credentials.
There have been worse VPs chosen by "better" methods (eg, Quayle).
Hallerbahjuhjah!
"Three months before she was thrust into the national political spotlight, Gov. Sarah Palin was asked to handle a much smaller task: addressing the graduating class of commission students at her one-time church, Wasilla Assembly of God.
Her speech in June provides as much insight into her policy leanings as anything uncovered since she was asked to be John McCain's running mate.
Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."
Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin's foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said."
heh. Rovie bunted.
#18: I'm not sure that an NRA card-carrying, big oil lovin, pro-life evangelical that just happens to be under investigation for abuse of power is going to garner that many swing voters. The only thing she has going for her is that she's a woman, otherwise she's pretty much every moderate and liberal's nightmare.
It's almost over and the Dems are losing...
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 48% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 51%, McCain 45%. This is the highest level of support enjoyed by Obama at any point in Election 2008

Cute cover.
I like Palin. She seems like a guy in a woman's body. Wouldn't mind fishing and drinking with her.
Can't say that about any other candidate except Cynthia McKinney, whom I'd like to get so drunk she'd take a swing at somebody.

bob,
Your first comment on BB was hostile in tone and content. You can try again in three days if you'd like to engage in civil discourse.
Bob
It's only censorship when the gubbment does it. On BoingBoing and any other privately-owned publication, it falls under the "my house, my rules" clause. Just like you can kick me out of your house for cussing (or for any reason, really), if you want, and it's not censorship.

Back to the topic: Whatever, you think of her policies, kids, looks or experience, parodies like the one above confirm that Palin has acheived the primary aim of taking the media spotlight off of Obama.
...For those complaining about people loving the fact that she's a VPILF, keep in mind that when McCain wins the election, Palin will probably only be referred to as a VPILF for about two years. Then she'll get to drop the "V" :-)
Sparkzilla: O could use a little time out of the spotlight. It's about time someone else got to squirm under the microscope. If Michelle O had just had her 5th baby at 44, and she'd announced her teenage daughter is 5 months pregnant right before the convention, the resultant "scandal" would've put him out of the race (no pun intended.) Why isn't Fox news calling Palin or her daughter a Baby Mama? (Oh yes, because it wouldn't be racist.)
Nice link Takuan, and "Rovie bunted." -Heh indeed!
OM@32: And she is of the party of PILFering...
Didn't an Alaskan Senator just get sent to the Pokey for massive fraud? Aren't similar issues raised by this VP candidate? Here's hoping McCain had More than "she'll help me distract the press" on his mind when he (or his advisors) picked her. I'm a big supporter of women in politics, but surely you'd want them to have experience at each level before you bump them up to the next one? Hillary spent 8 years in the White House, she's spent time in the Senate, arguably she's got a lot of experience. Palin? "she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission", which I'm betting had Something to do with her powerbase on this one.
Hmm, Obama's from Illinois. Didn't a governor of Illinois once get convicted of something? Yeah, that's the ticket.
